In January 2026, the guidance regarding enrichment was updated Berigelsesvejledningen.
Some of the updates that have been implemented include the removal of text about fee payment, as the company is no longer charged a fee for notifications and approvals. In section 2.2, a clarification has been made regarding electrolyte drinks. The three categories for electrolyte drinks are merged, so that there is only one overall category for electrolyte drinks regardless of the form, labelling and packaging of the products. In section 7.3, a section has been inserted regarding spice mixtures in relation to mandatory iodine enrichment. This means that spice mixtures where salt is the primary ingredient in the product (e.g. herb salt) will initially be covered by the requirement for mandatory iodine enrichment.
